Do Your Sit-Ups

Perform a certain number of sit-ups every day, or at least every other day. It's okay if your muscles are not strong enough to do many at first. Just gradually increase them. Focus on your sit-ups as an exercise in building perseverance and character.

  1. Hi beautiful GENA
I am doing sit ups three times a week. Tell us about you wisdom on pushups. I find them more empowering than situps feel.
    Sending you Love and Light.

  2. Dear Bonnie,

Pushups and situps are BOTH resistance exercises that have been around for hundreds and thousands of years. Before there were any fancy health clubs and exercise equipment available to us, pushups and situps were a natural - no cost way to stay fit, healthy and strong!!

    Think about this:

Both pushups and situps are "SIMPLE" resistance exercises that can be done anywhere, anytime. They are great for building strength, tone and muscle endurance. Both exercises are equally empowering to the mind, body and spirit, it’s just a matter of preference.

Pushups in particular offer the benefits of weight lifting, stretching and cardio all in one exercise. For a beginner, pushups can be very challenging because of how many muscles are involved all at one time.

In doing this type of exercise, you use your own body and its weight in order to gain strength and power in your muscles. Pushups are the "SIMPLEST" and fastest way to build endurance and strength.

Older people also benefit greatly from this exercise as well. The fact that they can do pushups at an advanced age is a REFLECTION that their bodies are not aging as fast and that they still do have strength in their muscles.

Even for those who do not have as much strength in their lower bodies as they once had, they can do a variation of the exercise in which they stand against a wall. They use their arms to push the body away from the wall and in this way work at increasing the strength of the muscles in the arms shoulders and upper part of the body around the rib cage.

Thank you for your question Bonnie!
Keep it "SIMPLE" amd Stay empowered with the PushUp!!

    Healthy Blessings,
    Gena
